The Women in Royal Blue booked themselves in the 4th round of the F.A Cup Sunday afternoon after a comfortable win against Huddersfield Town and didn’t really look in trouble at any point. Blues secured a 4th Round game with Everton away from home on the January 29th.

Blues took the lead in the 5th minute when Christie Murray’s free kick caused problems for the Huddersfield defence and defender Georgia Marshall but it in the back of her net. After that the game was very stop start with a injury to Wilson with a head injury .

In the 25th minute Blues could have had a penalty when Charlie Devlin shot hit Laura Elford hand but the referee waved it away. Blues had another chance in the 32nd minute but Christie Murray’s shot went over the bar. Their was another stoppage when Laura Elford needed treatment in the 34th minute.

In the 42nd minute blues had another penalty appeal turn down when  Christie Murray was wiped out from a Huddersfield Town player but yet again the ref waved it away.

SECOND HALF

The first real chance In the second half when Wilson switched it over to Charlie Devlin but her shot was well blocked from the  Huddersfield defence in the 57th minute. MY THOUGHTS

A really comfortable performance from The Girls In Royal Blue after a tricky first half where Huddersfield defended really well but in the second half the quality shine through for blues great to see three different goal scorers great to see Lucy Quinn getting another goal and Siobhan Wilson getting another assist. A tough forth round draw against Everton now on the 29th of January but a lot to look forward to in 2023. Next up back to the league when play Sheffield United next weekend.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH

I have to go with the Scottish Maestro Christie Murray who was brilliant with her balls into the box her pass accuracy was great a great performance  from Christie.
