Chelsea put in a 5 star performance

Goals from Magdalena Eriksson, Drew Spence , Beth England 2 and Niamh Charles helped Chelsea to a place in the last four of this season’s Ladies FA Cup.

On the bright side Delphi Cole from the academy made her senior debut but that’s the only real benefit of the weekend game.

Blues were holding their own in defensive situation but yet again as I been shouting out from the last couple of blogs we need support for Libby Smith as she cant do the work all on her own.

ON sunday after the first goal went in it felt as though it was game over. Chelsea had to wait until the 45th minute when Magdalena Eriksson broke the visitors’ resistance on the brink of half-time, heading home Beth England’s knockdown.

Drew Spence my Player of the match swept home a classy second before her brilliant backheel set up England for Chelsea’s third my goal of the game .

Then Niamh Charles’ header and England’s 20-yarder piled on the misery for the Blues in the 65th minute .

Then 7 minutes later the brilliant Beth England got her brace .

Chelsea were denied a sixth goal when Jonna Andersson’s late header hit the bar. The only good thing about this result was Delphi Cole making her senior debut .

Next season cannot come quickly enough, we need to identify players in the championship and aboard, maybe get some loan players from the WSL like what we did with Ruby Mace to help build another great Birmingham side. Lets not forget that the season has not yet finished so strong performances until the season end are whats needed
