Fight, Determination and a Penalty

Garrison Coffee Company Sponsors Tilton Talks BCFC Ladies reports

The Ladies in Royal blue put up a battle brave and were resilient but were undone by one mistake that proved costly. A penalty was awarded when Lisa Robertson handled the ball in the box which was then slotted home by Harder. The loss means that whilst still being mathematically possible to stay up its not possible without 2 wins and will see championship football next season.

Although Chelsea have the quality blues made it difficult for them with only three shots on target and Emma Hayes was relived when she heard the full time whistle.

In the first five minute ‘s blues look nervous when Pernille Harder 9 times out of 10 would have buried it but just went wide.

Then Aussie superstar Sam Kerr stuck a wonderful shot which rebounded of the cross bar a wonderful effort from her. Then Guro Reiten had a left footed shot that just went wide of the goal.

Half time 0-0

In the second half Emma Hayes made the change which would prove to be crucial in Chelsea’s win. The main impact came from player of the match Erin Cuthbert after she had come on for Beth England.

Erin was in the action straight away when her shot was deflected and Ramsey picked it up.

In the 70th Minute the game changed when Lisa Robertson handed the ball in the penalty box and Pernille Harder placed it passed Emily Ramsey to make 0-1.

Blues did have one chance from Emily Whelan in the 93rd Minute and former Blues goalkeeper Ann Katrin Berger made a brilliant save.

With Leicester City grabbing a point at reading its more then done that blues will play in the championship football next season. Change will be required and I feel we will see player changes. I believe that if we can keep some of nucleus f the team along with bringing in a few fresh faces that we can mount a challenge for promotion next season.

Lets also not forget that you the fans can be the 12th player. It has been seen this week that ladies football is increasing in popularity (22000+ at Newcastle at the weekend to see their ladies at St James Park ) and of-course the sell our Wembley for the upcoming Euros final. You can help make the difference and help bring premier football back
