Sit back, relax and Rotherham to come Saturday

It’s nice to sit back and gather our thoughts with no mid-week game to worry about. John Eustace will get the chance to get some rest and re-organisation in his team. Wigan and Huddersfield both in the bottom three are against superior opposition in West Brom and Bristol City respectively. I won’t publish until the results are known.

Mixed reactions from weekend at Wigan. There have been ludicrous calls for the managers head and much disappointment the three points were not heading south. Had the penalty gone in, the Boss would be on course for the manager of the month. Had all three woodwork strikes gone in we may have been talking Knighthood. There was a certain disquiet that we did not try and win the game, The three chances squandered left us no choice but to take the point which in a six pointer was as good as 3. If you are still following me suffice to say that with 10 minutes to go a defeat was unthinkable.

Let’s get a reality check. Firstly, we have limited goal scoring power. Three 30+ guys are well past their sell by dates. Each has a different pedigree and the one with the best is injured. WE signed Khadra to add some pace and he started with some promise, netting 2 in his first three games, He was injured for weeks and on Saturday was sent on in the last 10 minutes when he hardly touched the ball in that time, Is he going to change our fortunes in front of goal?

Defensively we have got better in the last 2 games, but the clean sheet still eludes us, With our goals for, at just over 1 goal a game it does take a genius to work out that a clean sheet will give us the points more often than not.

As for John Eustace he was perfectly honest from the moment he walked in. In spite of the additions made to the squad he stated that we were too light on numbers. When the injuries and suspensions started to affect us as he said they would, we have not been able to cope. Favourites for relegation before Blues had kicked a ball what price are they now?

Rotherham are here on Saturday. Those expecting a classic will be disappointed. Entertainment will be in short supply. If that’s what you want, see what’s on at the pictures, Everyone else who really have BCFC in their hearts get down to St Andrews and make the Yorkshiremen very uncomfortable.
