Scott Booth came back to Blues following his sacking last year to get a well deserved point with Lewes F.C. Blues started the brightly with good interchanging passing with a cross that Siobhan Wilson who will become a fans favourite couldn’t have guided her header

Then something unusually happened Louise Quinn made a mistake with a poor back pass to the goalkeeper to Lucy Thomas but to the rescue came Tara Bourne with a great tackle . From the corner Lewes had their first attempt on goal with a header which was tipped over the bar from Thomas.

Lewes were growing in  confidence spraying to ball winning second balls blues were getting  to grips with their new team mates. Blues cutting edge was not their one of the newbies Charlie Devlin  went on  a amazing run but she couldn’t pull it back in the 17th minute. Lewes had another chance in the in the 26th minute but the shoot went well wide.

Blues again showed some good last minute challenges from this time Martha Harris in the 35th minute . From the corner Ellie Mason shot saved from Thomas. In the 39th Lewes had a free kick and a shot from Amelia Hazard went just wide . Blues were under pressure .

Lewes had one more effort in the first half but it went well wide. Blues started well in the second half with Martha Harris shot was comfortable save from Lewes goalkeeper Sophie Whitehouse . Blues looked a bit shaky yet again in the defence.

Then a huge moment in the 58th minute a huge moment for Lewes when Paula Howells unbelievable strike was spectacularly saved form Lucy Thomas if Lewes took the lead no blues fan could say that their didn’t deserve it. Blues came back into the game in the 64th minute when Martha Harris shot went wide. Lewes last chance was a shot that was comfortable saved from Thomas in the 74th minute .

Then blues Libby Smith was through on goal but her shot was saved by Sophie Whitehouse following the corner Jade Pennock could have been the hero when she hit the crossbar  in the 88th minute .

Overall

If you cant win it don’t lose it. My performance’s of the day are Siobhan Wilson in my opinion could be a cult hero at St Andrews her delivery into the box is very good her pace and skill will get people of our seats . Lucy Thomas was also great with her unbelievable save from Lewes Paula Howells. Disappointing that we couldn’t get Jade Pennock and Lucy Quinn on at half time especially Pennock cause I think her know how in this division she can be huge advantage for us in the long run. Two tough games now against Sunderland who we beat in the cup last season and I think are toughest test will be are next home game against Crystal Palace if we can pick up 4 points in the next two games it will be a good start.
