The season to come

We are just a couple of weeks from the season starting and boy has it been a strange but busy summer. We have had change at the club with a new structure in place and new backroom staff joining. Some great new additions along with some departures. Oh and who can forget some international competition where new records were set by an Ex Blue 🙂

Before we start I just want to say Thank You !!

Lets start as we mean to go on, YESSSSSSSSSS we can go back to the mighty St Andrews. It maybe restricted numbers due to repair work but we will be back. Judging by the reception at Northampton at where 1700 Bluenoses made it sound like 17000 I feel more than just Nick Spalls tears that will be shed. We all owe a massive debt of gratitude to our emergency services and the NHS. At that first game the first chorus of Keep Right on will be for them. Our very own Nick DJ Spall has started a campaign to have every club sing Abide with me at the first games of the season. This is a way for us again to say thank you to the unsung hero’s. The NHS, The Care workers infact all Key workers and of-course remember those that we have lost during the pandemic.  Come get behind this and add #Footballsingsabidewithme

Lets start with the season ahead!

As we go into the 2021/22 season alot of Bluenoses are looking up rather than down. Lee Bowyer has stamped his authority on the team. A few key additions so far and we are building a young eager team who want to impress.  I want to applaud Craig Gardner for stepping up to his new role. He has played a key part in getting in the fresh faces.  It appears that Lee and Craig have set the stall out. They have recruited players who want to impress and show what they can do.

So far the additions of  Jordon Graham, Ryan Woods to midfield, Chuks Aneke and Tahith Chong to the front line along with Juan Famila-Castilo, Dion Sanderson to defence have been welcomed.  We have also now taken Matija Sarkic as goalkeeping cover due to Neil Etheridge’s COVID issues.  The addition of new contracts for Gary Gardner and George Friend has put us in a great starting position.  I also feel that there are more to come.

So what’s to come ?

As we get ready for the 1st game of the season against Sheffield I feel that we will see a team that fights for everything and plays to its strengths.  We are not going to see fancy tippy tappy football instead we are going to see work horses who will know what they need to do and the roles that they have in the overall team.

A team that fights for everything and knows what it means to wear the shirt and passion for the badge.  This is all the fans ask for.

This will be a season of learning for me and It will take alot for us to end in the top half of the table.  I hope I am proven wrong
