BLUES WOMEN WIN 4-2 ON PENALTIES
MY THOUGHTS ON THE GAME
An amazing second city derby which had everything and people who want to get rid of the Subway Women’s League Cup then tell them to watch this match a great advert for the women’s game from two teams giving everything to get the bragging rights for their fans. But for Blues the city is for Blue until we meet Villa again hopefully next season in the WSL, but we got so much work to do from now to the end of the season and with managing changes happening in the league with Northern Ireland manger Tanya Oxtoby joining Newcastle United on Friday. We need to be on are game when we came back from the international break playing Crystal Palace away from home. But back to last night it was great to see a crowd of over 2,300 on a Friday night which was really impressive from both sets of supporters. But what was great to see was the togetherness of are players and fans at the end of the game going over to them and celebrating the second city derby with them. On Veatriki Sarri she loves scoring against the Villa that is four goals against them now and the brace she scored last night were two classy finishes from the Greek international . And another person I have to give a huge shoutout is Chelsea Cornet I think on Friday night she played her best game in a Blues shirt and captain the side brilliantly and her ball to Lily Crosthwaite for Sarri’s opening goal was sensational. Now we go into the international break full of confidence and come back in a fortnights’ time to face a difficult test against former Blues legend Jo Potter’s Crystal Palace side. And my final point not a footballing point but its great to see both clubs remembering the Birmingham pub bombings and well done to Walsall Football Club putting it on the big screen to we remember them.

MY PLAYERS OF THE MATCH
I have to go for two players the first is Veatriki Sarri an outstanding performance from the Greece international and her goals where full of class.
And the second is Adrianna Franch and a brilliant and important double save in the first minute which by the way how important that was and of course saving penalties from Sarah Mayling & Lucia Kendell.
THE FANS
Thanks should also go to the magnificent support at the Bescot. The celebration at the end with the players was brilliant and it’s now 2 wins in the last 2 over the team from Aston

UP NEXT
Its international break now but are next game after the break is a trip down south face Blues legend Jo Potter’s Crystal Palace side.
