CHARLTON WSL2 PREVIEW WITH GRAHAM

So, it comes down to this, three teams going for the WSL2 Championship us Charlton & Crystal Palace it’s going to be a hell of a Saturday to see which two teams are going into the WSL automatically and of course who finished in the third place play-off spot which looks like its Leicester City who are at the bottom of the WSL with nine points.

Lat time out Blues suffered the sixth defeat of the season losing to Ipswich 0-3 with two outstanding goals from Kit Graham and in between them those great strikes Princess Ademiluyi headed in to make it two nil, and the tractor girls survived in the WSL2 and fully deserve it.

For Karen Hills there were so close to take all three points against Southampton in the late kick off on Sunday Emma Bissell looked like she won it with her first touch from the penalty spot but Atlanta Primus spoiled the party when a cross wasn’t dealt with  and she tapped it home on the line, and she made the game level at 2-2 and that’s how it finished.

Onto Saturday I have spoken to Graham a huge Charlton fan and we talk about the season overall Karen Hills, and all thinks Charlton Women.

WHAT ARE YOUR OVERALL THOUGHTS ON THE SEASON ?

I think it’s been another outstanding season. To go unbeaten for as long as we did was a fantastic achievement and it’s yet another season where we’re competing at the top of the league against teams with big budgets and Premier League backing.

YOUR THOUGHTS ON KAREN HILL ?

I can’t speak highly enough of Karen and the job she’s done and continues to do. Always has the team well prepared and everyone knows their role and what is expected of them within the team and she just brings a calmness to the place.  She bleeds Charlton having been a player here and FA Cup winner with us.

WHAT FORMATION DO YOU PLAY ?

The favoured formation is 4-4-2 but we have versatile players so it can be a 5-3-2 as well if the circumstances warrant.

YOUR STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES ?

Strengths I’d say that we are built on a solid foundation. Very good defensively but we also have pace and skill going forward that can cause any team a problem.

Weaknesses, for me anyway, I always worry when we defend corners. That’s when we seem our most vulnerable.

YOUR PLAYERS TO LOOK OUT FOR ?

Oh, I could name so many here, but I’ll try and keep it brief. Jodie Hutton has a magical left foot, Karin Muya has excellent ball control and loves taking players on, Sophie Whitehouse is having another superb season in goal for us, she seems to have her own save of the month contest each month.

YOUR SCORE PREDICTION ?

I expect there to be goals as you would expect both sides will want to win to hopefully be crowned Champions, but I’ve got to back my girls and say we’ll edge it 2-1.
