A BRACE FROM QUINNY KEEPS THE MOMENTUM GOING AS WE BEAT ROVERS

Blues are three points clear of the chasing back with all three teams dropping points London City Lionesses drawing against Charlton Bristol City losing to Newcastle United & Durham losing in the River Wear derby against Sunderland. A brace from Lucy Quinn in the first half got the girls all three points to keep this brilliant momentum going wining three in row but this away win was the six away win in a row an unbelievable achievement from Amy & the girls. Team news Amy gave starts for Ivanna Fuso Martha Harris & Ashanti Akpan and Goalkeeper Charlotte Clarke was back on the bench following her loan recalled from Wolves.

MY THOUGHTS ON THE GAME

Blues six away win in a row and more importantly we three points clear of the chasing pack yes London City Lionesses have a game in hand, but I rather be in are positioning then chasing what Amy has done since she has come to the club is nothing more than sensational what she has brought to the club is a winning mentality and a mentality on how to hang on  to wins especially away from home which in previous season we did not have especially after the Christmas breaks in both season we been the championship the intensity isn’t there but now under Amy we got it and hopefully at the end we will hold up the championship trophy.

On todays  game it was typically blues women performance all fighting all competing all showing everything for the badge and that’s all we wont has blues fans and its been a good couple of weeks for super Lucy Quinn getting back into the Republic Of Ireland Squad and now getting a brace to get us the three points Quinny has scored twenty goals for the girls in royal blue  and sits along side Kirsty Linnett & club legend Kerys Harrop in the all time goal scorers for Blues and has been a credit to the club and we are lucky to have her.

On other positives from today’s game Rebecca Holloway has been brilliant since Amy has arrived and could have got her first goal for blues but hit the post in the second half Becks always gives everything in a Blues shirt in both spells at the club and the goals will come for her but has a defender she has improved from her first spell  and has been a rock this season under Amy.

Also, two more players I like to give credit to are Oliwia Szperkowska since she came in to replace Lucy Thomas in the first half of the Sunderland game, she’s looking more and more confident in goals. And another player who doesn’t get the credit she deserves is Ashanti Akpan getting another assist always calm under pressure and will become a huge star in the future.

MY PLAYER OF THE MATCH

It has to go to Lucy Quinn like I said a great couple of weeks for her and getting a brace today  a great performance from the Republic Of Ireland International.

UP NEXT

Its the women’s FA Cup next week but are next game will be back at StAndrews@Knightheadpark against Southampton on the 16th of March and the kick off will be at 14:00
