ASTON VILLA WOMEN V BLUES WOMEN SUBWAY LEAGUE CUP PREVIEW

So it all comes down to this a local derby in Walsall against the Villa in our last game in the league cup and both teams looking to progress into the knockout stages of the Subway League Cup for both teams it will look unlikely cause Spurs play Bristol City over the weekend and it will look like the best second place finish but it’s a derby and bragging rights are to play for the players and more importantly the fans.
MATCH PREVIEW
For Amy and the girls there are right back on track with back to back wins over Forest & this past Sunday over Jay Sadler’s Portsmouth side winning 5-2 we scoring goals for fun now but we are still looking a bit shaky at the back sometimes and we need to get that defence sorted if we do want to get back into the the WSL. And this Friday against Natalia Arroyo Villa side we need to show are best defensvely game of the season. And also when we go on the attack we need to ruthless. I hope Amy picks her strongest team as possible if we have any chamce of coming away from the Bescot with the three points.
For Natalia Arroyo Villa are coming of a disapointing 1-3 defeat to London City Lionesses goals from a brace Saki Kumagai and a strike from former Villa forward Izzy Goodwin got the lionesses the victory at Villa Park on Sunday. So Arroyo is looking for a reaction after there dispointing defeat and what better way to go into the international break beating your local rivals. Of course Villa have got so much quality in there squad including Jill Baijings Kirsty Hanson and of course Rachel Daily.
Is easy to say but the first goal is key on Friday night if Blues get it we got something to hold on to if Villa get it could be a long night we need a performance like when we beat Everton a few years back in the FA Cup we were solid from back to front and we need that type of commitment on friday night . And hopefully go back to StAndrews@KnightheadPark with a win.
PLAYERS TO LOOK OUT FOR
The first player I have picked is the top goalscorer for Villa in winger Kirsty Hanson who has scored three times including the goal on Sunday in the loss to the Lionesses a quality player who will give any team in the WSL a nightmare.
My second player is of course Rachel Daly a quality striker who always gives her all in any shirt rather it has been for Villa all the lionesses.
And my third is Jill Baijings an attacking midfield who Villa got from Bayern Munich and the dutch international is always dangerous and we have to be away of her.
