BLUES FOUND A WAY TO THE FOURTH ROUND OF THE F.A CUP AFTER DEFEATING A STUBBORN MK DONS SIDE

Blues are through to the 4th round of the F.A Cup but there had to earn it against a very stubborn MK Dons. Blues had to wait to stoppage time to get the goals with the first in a Blues shirt for Choe Yu-Ri with a low shot and the second was a breakaway goal with the Brazilian Ivanna Fuso who scored on the break Infront of empty net. Blues made a number of changes, but it was good to see the return of the Charlie Devlin on the bench and made a return onto the pitch.

FIRST HALF

The first chance of the game came for Jade Pennock who shot was well saved from Chole Sansom in the second minute. Then two minutes later Christie Harrison-Murray shot was saved from Sansom.

In the 40th minute a well worked corner from Lucy Quinn who found her Ireland teammate Jamie Finn but her shot went over the bar.

Choe Yu-Ri had a spectulative low shot that trickled past the impressive Chole Sansom to make it 0-1 for the girls in blue.

MK Dons went looking for the equalizer and won a corner in the 94th the goalkeeper Choe Sansom also came up for the corner, Blues cleared it and Ivanna Fuso did ever so well to score into an empty net to make 0-2 and book Blues into the fourth round of the F.A Cup.

MY THOUGHTS ON THE GAME

Blues had to earn this victory over the MK Dons who were stubborn in their set up and gave Blues no time. In these games you are just trying to get into the next round of the cup and that’s what happened, it was great to see Choe gett her first goal for the club and Fuso is getting better and better each game. Darren will be pleased with this performance they never let their heads drop.

MY PLAYER OF THE MATCH

It has to be Choe, when she came on in the eightieth minute for Jade Pennock she changed the game. Her direct running made us more dangerous and she fully deserved her goal, there is so much to come from her .

NEXT UP

The last game of 2023 for the girls in Blue and what a game, its against Sunderland and should be a cracker.
