Blues finished runners up in the championship and put on a performance for us beating the champions in a comfortable afternoon. The ladies showed what their are capable of and hopefully they can maintain this momentum and push for the title next season .
A brilliant Lucy Quinn finish and a Charlie Devlin strike on the stroke of half time got us the three points. There was so much to be proud of m, resilience m, passion and defending like trojans in the second half. This enabled us to make it a magnificent seven in a row to make it a wonderful end to the season.
FIRST HALF
Blues started half like a house on fire with Charlie Devlin seeing her shot go wide in the first thirty seconds of the game. It could have been two in the 9th minute when Claudia Walker ran towards the goal and her early shot was saved from Fran Bentley .
Our bright start was rewarded in the 15th minute when the inform Lucy Quinn started and finished the move off Charlie Devlin’s ball and fired it into the bottom corner m. This was in front of the Republic Of Ireland manager Vera Pauw who was there to watch the Irish player’s before jetting off this summer for the World Cup in Australia & New Zealand .
Four minutes later Blues could have made it two with both Quinn’s and then Claudia Walker efforts brilliantly blocked from the Robins defence. In the 20th minute Claudia Walker struck the post with a deep cross from the left.
The first chance for Bristol City came in the 24thminute when Grace Clinton’s free kick went over the bar.
Blues had another chance in the 31st minute when Lucy Quinns free kick found Louise Quinn but her header went wide. The next chance for the visitors came in the 43rd minute when they made some decent build up play and Shania Hayles shot was blocked from the Blues defence . A minute later Vicky Bruce had a shot from inside the box and went over the bar.
Then on the stroke of half time Blues doubled the lead when Charlie Devlins header was saved from Bentley but Devlin smashed it home from the rebound.

The first chance of the second half came for the visitors when Rachel Furness shot was saved from Thomas in the 50th minute. The Visitors had another chance 5 minutes later when the robins broke clearly with Grace Clinton found Hayles who seen her effort saved from Thomas.
Blues first chance of the second half came through Claudia Walker when her shot was saved from Bentley. In the 69 the minute Bristol City should have equalised through Naomi Layzell but she was denied by Lucy Thomas with an unbelievable save.

FULL TIME BLUES 2-0 BRISTOL CITY
MY THOUGHTS ON THE GAME
A brilliant end to the season beating the champions and winning seven in a row. It was a game of two halves first half we were brilliant, aggressive when breaking up play and attacking with purpose . The second half we showed our metal , defending really well and fighting for the badge which is what every Blues fan wants. A lot of work has to be done in the summer to keep the nucleus of the squad because their will be clubs above us trying to nick are players.
POM
I have to go for Charlie Devlin another assist and a reaction finish to make it two nil fully deserves it.
