A phenomenal performance from Blues Women this afternoon after thrashing the Black Cats at The Stadium Of Light and all the goal scorers all got the debut goals for the club.

Blues started of well and in the 4th minute blues when a corner was half cleared and Siobhan Wilson shot from the edge of the box was comfortable saved from Claudia Moan . In the 15th minute blues thought their took the lead from Libby Smith but it was flagged for offside .

Blues were getting into the groove in this game in the 26th minute Jade Pennock rolled backed the ball to Smith but her shot was clammed by Moan. It was Pennock’s turn to have a shot but it went over the bar in the 42nd surely the goal was coming and it did from a unlikely source. A corner was played and the brilliant Harriet Scott scored her first goal for the club when she hooked it into the far corner just before half-time Her face was a joy to behold. It was what blues deserved .

Second Half

In the second half Sunderland had the first chance when Tyler Louise Dodd’s shot from range was saved well from Lucy Thomas. Then it was Blues turn to have a chance to make it 0-2 when the skipper Louise Quinn header went just over the bar from a corner from Christie Murray in the 59th Minute.

Boss Darren Carter made a double change with Lucy Quinn and Ashley Hodgson coming on for Libby Smith and Charlie Devlin in the 64th minute which will be crucial for the game. In the 72nd minute the goal of the game when  Lucy Quinn broke forward and played it to Jade Pennock and slot it to Siobhan Wilson who fired it to the top right hand side of the net for her first goal for Blues.

Seven minute’s later for blues it was dream land when Louise Quinn header was saved from Moan but Ashley was there to put it in the net for her first of the club. Three minute’s later it was four for the blues with Jamie Finn’s first for the club when she tapped it home blues were in dream land now.

Summing up the game

What a performance from Darren’s side to go to the Stadium Of Light and but it in a Performance like that was simply fantastic with one of the rivals to go up in my opinion. My player of the match was Siobhan Wilson with that goal was simply stunning . If we play like this we will be challenging for the title come the end of the season . In this championship you have to be consistent if you start slow it be hard to gather momentum it doesn’t matter how big of a name you are in this division you have to have the  right mentally like Liverpool it took two years to get out of the championship Sunderland who were one of the originally  WSL members along side Bristol City  .

Up next  we back at St Andrews to face Crystal Palace in another tough game.
