BRISTOL CITY WOMEN V BLUES WOMEN LEAGUE CUP PREVIEW

Blues make their second trip to Bristol City this Sunday for a 15:00 kick off against are follow championship rivals in the Women’s League Cup.

Stephen Kirby has done a magnificent job for the robins since he was appointed on the 19^th of September and getting some great results beating Charlton & Newcastle on the way to get them up to third place two points behind us.

For us we are still waiting for are first points in the League Cup losing to Brighton 0-3 at StAndrews @ Knighthead Park. While Bristol City draw against Leicester City but won in a penalty shootout 2-1 getting two points and their second in the table. Blues are bottom of the table and if Blues want to progress in this competition its a must win.

I think Amy will make changes for this especially bringing back into the sticks Oliwia Szperkowska but I love to see some game time for Louanne Worsley Ava Baker and Siobhan Wilson and maybe one or two of the youngsters like Lucy Day who was in the match day squad for the first time against Newcastle United & Millie Pullen who is banging in the goals in the under 23s.

For Bristol City the players we should look out for of course former player Jamie Lee Napier but also Abi Harrison can be tricky on her day and of course Lexi Lloyd-Smith who is the top goal scorer for the robins this season with six goals and two assists. 

It is back-to-back league cup games with Leicester City after this which should be on the 11^th of December but no confirmation has been made yet on the venue.

For the fans going down to Bristol City it won’t be at Ashton Gate it will be at the Robins High Performance Centre and have a safe trip down there.
