The season to come
just a couple of weeks from the season starting and boy has it been a strange but busy summer. We have had change at the club with a new structure in place and new backroom staff joining. Some great new additions along with some departures. Oh and who can forget some international competition where new records were set by an Ex Blue :-)

55 Years In The Making!
Who would have thought at Euro 96 when all of us belted out “30 years of hurt” that it would take nearly double that time frame again? On Sunday 11th July @ Wembley Stadium, KO 20.00hrs I will be watching England in the final of a major tournament.

And Then One Night In Rome…
Let’s set our stall out early with this blog like the England team did on Saturday night, it’s time to get excited isn’t it! It’s taken a while for the whole nation to really get behind this team and this Manager, he and they will always divide opinion but after the game on Saturday evening the whole nation and even biggest critics must have stood up an applauded.

‘That moment’
Nothing I am about to write will fully do justice to Tuesday night. I know this isn’t the ideal opening line of a blog, but it is the truth. Tuesday night was one of those forever moments that you don’t get very often in life and even less so in when following a sport. As I sit here at 4pm on Thursday, nearly 48 hours since I entered Wembley knowing the Tilton Talk Team need me to write something, I’m truthfully at a loss.

What a 12 months for Tilton Talk
Whatever we chose to discuss on the show we did it with the usual mix of unique blues fans humour, passion and devotion to the cause. It has been the perfect tonic for blues fans who have watched and listened over the past 11 seasons....(the brainchild of Chris 'Mrs' Browne).

One Nil… To the England!
For those who have taken an interest in these blogs you will know that in my pre-tournament blog I stated the following: “We know what we are getting with Southgate, he is a defensive minded coach with a ‘let’s not lose the game’ mentality. He see’s England’s strengths as a counter attacking team as opposed to a team who can play on the front foot. As a Nation we hope that he takes the shackles off and that he lets this young team just go out and express themselves, playing football as if they were that young lad playing on the playground.

Same old England !
How do I even begin to dissect the game on Friday? To be honest I am still in shock with how bad England played! We’re we that bad? We’re Scotland good? Is it a combination of both? 3 days on and I’m still as angry and dis-illusioned today as I was after the final whistle on Friday night.

And the winner is ….
So we all know the last 18 months have been a challenge for all and throughout Tilton Talk Show gave you a Monday night show to look forward to. Over 50 guests joined us for all parts of the world. The lockdown brought Neil Kilkenny from Thailand to Steven Caldwell and Big Kevin Francis from Canada. We have has stories galore from coaches stopping at Bookies from Liam Daish to Barry Fry asking all players to join him peeing on the corner flags. We have heard of players leaving presents in other players hotel rooms and of-course how can we forget the pre match rituals, some of which were very wacky :-). Lets also not forget that Nick recruited Lee Bowyer during our Carling Cup Special :-)
