NOTTINGHAM FOREST WOMEN V BLUES WOMEN WSL2 PREVIEW

Who’s up for some Monday Night Football Blues Women need a reaction after Sundays disappointing 0-1 loss to leaders Charlton. Blues Women make the short journey to the East Midlands to face Carly Davies Nottingham Forest side who has settled life in the second tier really well just a point behind us in the League.

MATCH PREVIEW

Like I said Blues need a reaction after in my opinion the worst performance of the season losing to yet again  Karen Hills Charlton Athletic side who were full value for their three points on Sunday a team that are all in it together and looked like in my season preview predictions candidates for WSL2 Champions. Katie Bradley got the only goal of the game which she couldn’t believe the ball found the back of the net has Lucy Thomas left it thinking it was going wide but ended up in the back of the net a disastrous goal to conceded. Some of the decisions from the gaffer I found strange leaving out are top goalscorer in Batcheba Louis when we were looking for a goal not putting on Lucy Quinn with her quality on the ball from set pieces. It was just one of those days the best chance of the game was when Martha Harris’s bullet header was brilliant saved from former Blues goalkeeper Sophie Whitehouse tipping it away from the top hand corner a world class save from Sophie. I think there will be changes on Monday night especially in the goalkeeping area.

For Carly Davies Nottingham Forest side there have started really well in the WSL2 sitting in fourth place and getting twelve points from their first seven games with standout performances against Bristol City and this past weekend beating Southampton 2-3 with former Bluenose Charlie Wellings herself getting a brace coming off the bench to get the equalizer and then the winning goal to climb above Southampton into fourth place a point behind us. Charlie isn’t the only ex blues players who we proper be facing on Monday there also got in there ranks Georgia Brougham who played under Carla Ward at Blues and also Mollie Green who was at Blues in two spells with Carla Ward but returned in are first season in the WSL2 under Darren Carter. There also brought quality elsewhere in the talented Deanne Rose from Leicester City Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah who scored against us on the final day for London City Lionesses & two more I have to pick out are both ex Bristol City players in Amy Rodgers & Chloe Mustaki I think Forest have had a brilliant transfer  window and there are one of my dark horses to go up.

PLAYERS TO LOOK OUT FOR

My first player has to be Charlie Wellings a brilliant performance against Southampton getting her brace and she will cause havoc for are back line.

The second is Nahikari García who Forest got from Denver Summit and is already of the mark scoring twice a great start for the Spanish player.

And the third is Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah who hurt us last season in the 2-2 draw final day match for London City Lionesses getting the second I hope are defence is much better not leaving her free in the box like last year.
