SUNDERLAND WOMEN VS BIRMINGHAM CITY WOMEN PREVIEW

Amy and the girls in blue travel up to Wearside this Sunday looking for a reaction when there face Mel Reay Sunderland team who are two points behind use in the table which is amazing achievement after the really poor start to the season there had picking up one win out of their first five games but it also doesn’t surprise me that the black cats have turned it around with the quality of coach in Mel who I got so much respect for it was a matter of time before there be fighting at the right end of the table .

MATCH PREVIEW

Like I said Amy’s girls will be looking for a reaction after their disappointing showing against Bristol City losing 1-3 to Stephen Kirby’s Robins and fully deserved to beat us on a dull and dismissal Sunday afternoon at St Andrews @Knightheadpark. But one thing I really like about Amy’s team whenever we had a defeat we responded really well like we lost to Durham we responded we beating Blackburn Rovers 2-0 when we lost to Newcastle United we put in are best performance of the season beating London City Lionesses 1-2 in their own turf so I am looking for a similar response this Sunday but it won’t be easy taking on Mel’s team.

Sunderland is on a three-match unbeaten run with a good win over Southampton but disappointing draws over Portsmouth and Blackburn this past Saturday with Jessie Stapleton giving the Blackcats the lead In the 18th minute but was cancelled out by an Emma Taylor header in the 51st minute which left Mel Reay Frustrated.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

I will pick three the first I have to go for is the top goal scorer in Eleanor Dale who is having a brilliant season scoring seven and assisting one the next is New Zealand International Katie Kitching who also is having a brilliant season scoring five goals and assisting three times and the third is Mary Mcateer always dangerous the forward is quality are defence needs to be on their game to get anything out  of Sundays game .

WHAT HAPPENED LAST TIME WE MET

It was five-star performance on the opening day of the season goals with a player of the match performance from Lucy Quinn scoring twice Lily Agg getting one Choe Yuri and Ivanna Fuso capped of a brilliant display from the girls from Blue. Lets hope for more of the same on Sunday but I think it will be a tight affair.

WHERE IS THE GAME BEING PLAYED

The game will be played at Sunderland’s Stadium Of Light kick off will be at 14:00. For all the blues fans going up there have a safe trip.
