So at 11pm 1st September the transfer window closed. We have seen overall stupid amounts of money spent in the premier league Infact the highest ever, but how to do you sum up Blues ins and outs?

Well for me we started the window with Lee Bowyer and even at that stage there was a warning that deals would be completed late in the window and so that proved to be

Incoming players

D.Sanderson (Loan), F.Thorndike (Permanent), J.Ruddy (Permanent), P.Placheta (Loan), A.Trusty (Loan), E.Longelo (Loan), K.Bielik (Loan), H.Mejbri, (Loan) and T.Chong (Permanent)

All great players that have helped to strengthen our club.  The outgoings from the club whilst greater in number have for me not caused to much damage and were expected

Outgoing players

Fran Villalba – €0.5M, Iván Sánchez – €0.1M, Jérémie Bela – Free, Archie Matthews – Free, Kristian Pedersen – Free, Oriol Soldevila – Free, Kane Thompson-Sommers – Free, Connal Trueman – Free, Josh Andrews – Loan, Ivan Sunjic – Loan, Kyle Hurst, Sam Cosgrove – Loan, Odin Bailey – Undisclosed, Keyendrah Simmonds – Loan, Marcel Oakley – Loan and Ryan Woods – Undiclosed

Overall thoughts

Overall I think this has been a good window for the blues. The incoming players have helped strengthen the team and despite not getting a striker signed we are in a much better position. The standout signing for me is that of Tahith Chong from Manchester United, whilst official figures have not been released it is believed that the initial outlay was £1.5 million with further add-ons and a sell on clause made this a brilliant piece of business.

Well done to all at the club and now to see them together and getting the results

  1. I totally agree with youcatcTTS. We have made some shrewd deals. I cant wait to see how H.Mejbri, (Loan) and T.Chong perform together. With them both coming from Man U they must be used to each others style of play less hope they show usca thing or two KRO

  2. Hopefully with a better midfield with pace and creativity we can create more chances for our strikers. I still can’t see where the goals are coming from. Saw Asante the £300k signing from Salford that the Baggies gazumped us for score his goal within minutes of coming on. Really annoying that we missed out on him. It does however reflect positively on the types of players we are trying to bring in. Agree with your assessment of our signings. They have all been good.

  3. i agree that the current transfer window has been good for Blues with the incoming Tahith Chong and loan of Hannibal for the 2022/23 season. Disappointed that Blues were beaten to Thomas Asante who looked a good player when he came on for Albion last night. Still as they say, ” C’est la vie” so we keep right on. The season is definitely looking brighter now….

  4. Other than not signing a striker the transfer window has gone very well I feel the midfield is massively stronger. And still leaves room for a young players to get a chance. Which is extremely important for our club.
