Garrison Coffee company sponsors Tilton Talk shows BCFC Women’s write ups

Back to back clean sheets and more importantly back to back wins from the last two away games is a huge boost for the girls in royal blue and keeps us on track and 5 points behind the league leaders London City Lionesses .

Blues started really well and a fierce free kick from Murray was whipped into the Rovers box but it was cleared from Hannah Coan in the 3rd minute .

Blues was on the attack again when Jade Pennock drive through the box before firing over the bar  in the 4th minute.

Then it was Blackburn to have their turn to come on the attack when Saffron Jordan played a good ball pass the Blues defence for Farah Compton but she couldn’t hold on to the ball and the chance was gone .

Then another quality ball from Christie Murray was punched away from Shanell Salgado .

It was Blues on top and Charlie Devlin brought the ball down brilliantly found Jade Pennock but Salgado was equal to the effort in the 17th minute .

Blues were piling on the pressure and Welsh international Charlie Estcourt almost got her first goal for the club but her half volley just went past the post in the 19th minute .

Then a break came into the game when goalkeeper Shanell Salgado and Charlie Devlin collide but both players were fine.

Then a great clearance from former villa player Jade Richards from a Jade Pennock cross kept the scores level  two minutes before stoppage time .

Then the deserve break through for Blues when Siobhan Wilson outsmarted Salgado and placed her free kick past the goalkeeper an outstanding goal from the Jamaican international in the 48th minute .

Blackburn Rovers started off the second half strong and some great work from Niamh Murray found Saffron Jordon but her shot was blocked from Tara Bourne in the 49th minute .

Rovers were on top and Blues struggled to clear from a free kick from Natasha Fenton and found Hannah Coan who shot just went wide in the 52nd minute .

Then the sucker punch came in the 57th minute when Jade Pennock rolled the ball across to goal of the month winner Lucy Quinn who found her composure and fires it into the bottom corner to make it 0-2 for Blues .

A minute later Blackburn had a chance when Niamh Murphy takes aim from 22 yards out but her shot was blocked well in he 58 minute .

In the 85th minute Jade Richards headed towards goal but Thomas saved well.

The last chance of the game came for Blackburn Rovers when Lauren Thomas created some space in the final third but her shot went over.

A brilliant couple of weeks in the league for Blues Women after the huge win   against Bristol City their followed it up against Blackburn Rovers and more  importantly the difference is finally solid after the disappointment’s  against London City conceding 3 goals in that game the coaches Darren & Jo have finally found a formula to get the defence solid again and there should take all the credit for that .

Have to go for Siobhan Wilson after her free kick amazing and she fully deserves it.
