The announcement we all expected has now been confirmed by the club with the arrival of Wayne Rooney as manager (Yes manager) on a three and a half year contract. Wayne joins after parting ways with DC United at the weekend and will be joined by Ashley Cole, John O’Shea both of whom will continue as coaches in their current positions. Rooney will also have Carl Robinson and Pete Shuttleworth assisting him after they also join from DC. Maik Taylor remains as goalkeeping coach as part of the revised setup.

All parties start with immediate effect and have the remaining international break time to work with the team ahead of a tough run of games starting at Middlesbrough on 21st October, the new management team get to experience a St Andrews crowd for the 1st time on Wednesday 25th October when Hull Visit.

We look forward to the new era at the club and wish Wayne and the team the best of luck

  1. Upset with John Eustace’s sacking. Was a true blue. Will get behind the new manager though. We move on and hopefully upwards.
The owners will spend more money with their man at the helm. Although money does not guarantee success it helps.
We will get stronger with the new team in place.
