MY THOUGHTS ON THE GAME

Blues Women made it a comfortable night even dough at half time it was 1-0 to the Blues but Blues  in the second half made it a comfortable night at StAndrews@KnightheadPark but the star of the show was Oceane Hurtre who scored that hat-trick and we hope to see more performance like that after the International break. Also what was good to see that we did see on a extend on Monday night that we change the shape we started on Saturday with a 4-3-3 but at half time we change to a 3-5-2 and replaced Michaela Kovacs who is still founding her feet in a Blues shirt and at times looked nervous and could have given a penalty away and at half time Neve Herron came on and we looked more comfortable in are shape with a back three of Herron, Cooke, and Silcock who herself had a decent debut. And we are into the quarter finals the first time since 2023 when we lost to Brighton under now Blues Head Coach Amy Merricks 0-2 . And if you listened to the gaffers interview on TNT that she wants to win both the league & FA Cup which I do like to see but there is plenty of work to do in both competitions.

But we have to talk about Chatham Town Women FC & there magnificent job that Keith Boanas has done with the club there still have an outside chance of getting promoted there are in third place in the league and are still in some cup competitions the players should be so proud of themselves especially in the first half and especially a brilliant display from  Chatham’s goalkeeper  Simone Eligon’s with her saves prevented double figures. And overall, Chatham earn a brilliant £127k from their cup run an amazing achievement.

MY PLAYER OF THE MATCH

I have to go for Oceane Hurtre her best performance in a Birmingham City Women’s shirt scoring two outstanding goals out on the wing and capitalised on some poor play in the back line and fully deserved her  player of the match well done Oceane.

UP NEXT
