Poor today, wasn’t at the races, and were lucky not to lose. Could have done with 3 points with two very challenging away games coming up, but we are still unbeaten at home.
It’s a very difficult league despite what some day. Kro

……..

I’m not that disappointed injuries didn’t help us hope they are O.K the changes we done was O.K but Disrupted our play. We got a point..M.O.T.M ..Paik

……..

Second game in a row where we have been poor, I understand we haven’t lost , but looking at the big picture, passing other teams off the park isn’t working well. We could have lost 1-4 today. There’s no height in the box, better teams will be able to finish their chances better than Blackpool. We seem to cross the ball more when Dykes went off, maybe Jutkiewicz might be a better option. Also let’s try and shoot rather than trying to walk the ball into the net. We could also do with Wright back, at least he runs at the defence, we are becoming too predictable. Apart from that we are still top of the League 😉

………

When I looked at the Xmas fixtures, this was the one where I thought we’d come unstuck. Supporting Blues makes you believe in prophecies. Coming up against Bruce today, I knew would be a problem.

………..

Not the greatest of performances but the unbeaten run continues.
Top of the table going into the new year with games in hand.
MOTM Iwata

Trying to be positive, at least it is a point and the squad is rotating when others cannot but 6 shots for our possession is poor. We seem to have forgotten to pass and move since the early games, as players just expect the ball to come back to them. We need to find a way to unlock 5 man defences. Onto Stockport who will fancy their chances and not defend in numbers. MOM Klarer

……….

Below par performance today, but respect to Blackpool and Brucie for giving it a good go.
Happy with a point in the end, KRO 💙

……….

To many players looking back towards the defence instead of turning and taking a players on.
Laird not interested unless someone passes to him, Gardner hickman delays crossing.
It seems like it’s becoming a habit of hoofing it forward if in doubt. It’s not good putting the ball in the air to stansfield he’s making the runs but nobody is looking for him because they are looking at their own half.

……….

Poor day at the office where has all the shooting disappeared to we’re still trying to score that perfect goal we need some shots at goal we have poachers in there to pick up the crumbs alfie may been none existent for us and he has been leading scorer in the division for 2 seasons the winger looked scared to death today when that full back came at him

………..

Best team We’ve played at home this season, we never had that bit of sharpness about us today, we missed Anderson big time, my Man of the match was or Goalkeeper, KRO.

………….

Below par today, and that goes for the atmosphere too! Shame for Buchanan who has hardly any luck with injuries. Strange line up and totally missed Keshi. At least we are unbeaten, top and a clean sheet. Games are coming thick and fast now so we need every ounce of energy from the squad. And we must simply shoot on sight!! Fancy triangles are only useful if they are wrapped in a shiny Dairylea wrapper!

………..

Turgid stuff. Slow passing and build-up made it comfortable enough for Blackpool. Missed Keshi and Cochrane’s additional width, though TGH played well. Would have preferred us to start with Jay. Poor Lee Buchanan deserves better fortune. Hopefully we’ll up our game in January to widen the gap over Wrexham and Wycombe, but need to be braver and have a go on the edge of the area – one pass too many today. MOTM Bielik.

………..

Blackpool by far the better team lucky to get a point I don’t understand why Jay wasn’t starting and also why he didn’t take of Christoph Klarer early after he looked injured at the end of the first half . Also will missed Keshi Anderson for dam sure. And the substitutes I didn’t get from CD I would have put on Ayumu Yokoyama for his pace . And I don’t understand why the juke doesn’t get a game . Work to do hopefully on Wednesday we can get a better performance against a really good Stockport side. #BCFC #KRO

The way we play means that over this period we are going to be knackered hence the changes . Stanno needs a rest the way he works and the injuries dont help . Agree we need to get the ball in the box quicker and more often for May to be ruthless. Having said all that Brucie knows what he is doing and he got it right , teams ain’t just going to roll over for us . Still top and on we go .

Our corners, free kicks doesn’t beat there first man so it’s a wasted opportunity. I do think we lack that type of creative player who can unlock defences. Also and again my own personal opinion but I don’t get the point of Dyke. He offers nothing to the team. Alfie May needs to be the out and out striker with Stansfield fitting in just behind.

Dykes must be a real disappointment to CD. Nobody really expected him to score bags of goals but he should at least be a thorn in opponent’s half. Plus the fact that Alfie May is not the real deal we all thought he was- time has come for CD and Gary Cooke to emerge from the transfer window with two successful replacements. Top of the league we might be but true blues seasoned followers know we need a ‘reset’ if we are to jettison this league.

Two successive poor performances. We are playing anodyne Southgate football. Stand still, receive the ball, pass it, move to a space to offer a team mate a pass option, stand still, receive the ball, stand still, pass it. As a team dynamic with players performing in that fashion, the ball goes back, from a wing position, a short pass forward, a sidewards pass, a pass back and across then a pass back or sidewards to other win. Meanwhile, the opposition have had ample time to move from their attacking formation to a packed defence. We have a squad full of players of quality for Division 1. The Knighthead team, I believe, think that most of them form a Championship-ready unit, and they are to be thanked for what they have done in assembling the squad, for what they have done with their improvements to the stadium, for their business nous and for the resulting huge uplift in fan morale and attendance. In my opinion, however, this way of playing is not going to cut it in the Championship. We don’t seem to have a plan ‘B’, to be able to change tactics during a game to counter what the opponent is doing or, more fluidly, to change from one formation to another and back and again as the opponent changes, as Blackpool did. If Blackpool had had a Stansfield, or a May, they would have won, one extra, quality player. We have over half a squad of them and could have lost. If lowly Burton had had a May then they would have got a point. Instead, they had a forward who put the ball over the bar of an open goal from 2 yards out. Realistically, we could have got one point from the last two home games instead of four and been three points off the pace. I don’t expect the team to score 3, 4 or 5 every game but more matches should be more comfortable than they are making them. There is a further similarity with Southgateball, which lost a winnable Euro final. We are playing with right-footed left side players. The opposition know that the attacker isn’t going to try to go around their fullback on that side. Blackpool, in an uncertain league position and having lost their previous game, played with a packed defence and, when they won the ball, changed formation and got players running at speed at our defence. They created more chances than we did and could, should, have won with what, without being dismissive or taking a rose-tinted view, is an inferior squad by some margin. In my view, we have been out coached by at least seven managers this season, with inferior squads and some in very straitened circumstances. Reading, for example, in the first game. They had to sell players in the summer, couldn’t buy because of financial difficulties and the unresolved sale of the club. We have been in similar circumstances over the last decade or so and we have lost matches and haven’t been surprised as fans that we have done so. Reading’s Portuguese manager completely stymied us. It is no surprise to me that Hull have snaffled him. I hope that the Knighthead team continue with their great work and that they can help engender more varied, fluid football from our team. The seeming obsession with our current style reminds me of the stubbornness of Russell Martin at Southampton, who eventually lost his job, and Postecoglu at Spurs.
