  Winter break, football in Scotland and Two Drowned rats

  The winter break is upon us and after a bit of a tail off by the Bluenose Nation we start to think about the most ill timed and irrelevant World Cup in history. That’s if you don’t count the last World Cup in Russia of course. Putin’s party impressed no-one, and his invasion of Ukraine was no surprise either.

  From Potteries to Swans the Blue boys continue to show their fight

  Two games with two good performances put us over that middle line into positive territory. Its what the Yanks call “over 500” or a winning season. With one game to go before World Cup break the chance is there to cement that position and push up to a genuine “fringe of the play-offs”.

  Sky TV, Wonder Goals and a half time cuppa

  Well as I said last week the best way to win games is to be 2-0 up with 20 minutes to go. JE’s Blue power carried that out to the letter against QPR on Friday night Live on Sky. The World was watching and the poor old Sky crew who had talked about QPR like they were the second coming for over an hour found the Londoners two-zip down and looking very second rate.

  Playing the top trio, momentum continues and missing chances

  Blackburn Rovers of Ewood Park is a club whose home has allowed BCFC one win since 1969. Yes 1969! Don’t think that last week’s match where Blues handed out a complete football lesson and the three points was anything unusual. How I remember being 3-1 up with David Dunn scoring against his old club and Robbie Savage bagged a brace against his soon to be new club. The final score 3-3!

  The fight is back, the team is back and now the roar of the fans is back.

  f the win against Bristol was terrific then the follow up at Hull was superb. Apart from the second penalty taken by Troy Deeney which was launched into the stratosphere, it was almost faultless. I am falling in love with this team.

  Bristol to Hull oh and the lack of 3pm Kick Offs

  Just how good was last Saturday’s victory against our ‘bunnies’ Bristol? We made the side of Nigel Pearson look totally inadequate and the manager apoplectic with rage. I always watch the highlights reels of both clubs and the neutral versions to get a better idea .......

  From Harold Wilson to a draw at Sheffield

  When Harold Wilson said the often repeated, “a week is a long time in politics” Blues were a lower middle 2 They were going nowhere and were nearer Div. III than one. 50 years on nothing has changed. My wonderful Tilton Talk Show hosts were proud of the fact that they were so positive for the first time in ages. In football 48 hours is an eternity. From taking on the best side in the league .....

  Eustace is building a force and the Bellingham Brothers are top of the world

  As I write Warwickshire are desperately trying to avoid relegation. Some BCFC experience may be required. They could have called in Harry Redknapp but would have faced the prospect of financial ruin. As you can tell in one of these infernal international breaks leaves me a little short of Blues stuff to talk about. I could mention Jude Bellingham’s magnificent performances for a frankly inept England. The London press have suddenly realized that Jude is England’s best player by a distance.
