On Monday we are bringing you a player who was instrumental during our European tour and whilst trying for premier return. We are also bringing a very own member of the Tilton Talk Show backroom staff.

Born in Glasgow on 2nd December 1983 Chris Burke started his career in 2002 for Rangers. Chris has gone on since to make over 400 professional appearances scoring 79 goals. Chris has also had the privilege to represent Scotland gaining 7 full caps scoring 2 goals.

In June 2011, Chris signed for Birmingham joining Chris Hughton and went on to play in the 61 of the teams 62 games that season. During his first season, Burke went on to score 14 goals and assist a further 19. This fine run of form saw Chris achieve the Clubs, Players Player and Junior players player of the year awards. Chris went on to play a further 70 games in Blue and white before moving to Nottingham Forest. Chris remained in England for a further couple of seasons before returning to Scotland.

Join us on Monday to hear from Chris and some of the great stories

Leighton Webster Fan Cam

This week we have one of our own Tilton Talk Backroom staff joining us on Fan Cam. We are joined by Adam Wilkes. We have reached out to Adam to find out more about his memories of Blues along with his favourite games, players managers and lets not forget flavour of pie 🙂

My first game I think was Blues vs Tranmere 95/96 season when was aged 9. Blues won 1-0 and me and my dad sat in the railway as it was called back then. He met his work mates at the Victoria pub on Bordesley Green Road and I waited outside while he went in and got his pint and we sat on a wall outside then walked past the bluenose and down to the ground.

It wasn’t the first ever football match I went to though. My first ever match was at them down the roads ground for an international match between Brazil and Sweden in the Umbro Cup and I went with my uncle and my cousin. Brazil won 1 nil.

Who is your favourite player and Manager ?

Favourite player: Stan Lazaridis – came to us in late 90s from West ham but slotted straight in and felt like he had been with us for ages. Scored some great goals usually after a great run. He might of been a socceroo but he had bulldog spirit and grit and played for the badge every single time he stepped on the pitch.

Favourite manager: Bruce – took us finally into the promised land, beat the neighbours in a double in the first season in the prem. Great in the transfer market and got the best out of players where other managers wouldn’t (Pennant with his tag springs to mind)

What’s your favourite ever game ?

Favourite ever game: the second leg semi final of the carling cup vs West Ham – place was rocking! Remember a few fans broke into Que Sera Sera and thinking “shhhh! We’re Birmingham city, something is bound to go wrong late on!” but it didn’t and the rest as they say is history!

(The final did bring me to tears tho!)

Lets note forget the most important question – Favourite Pie ?

Favourite Pie: Balti – made in Birmingham so apt that it is and always should be on the menu! (regardless of what Nick thinks – he’s wrong!)

Join us Monday at 730 on Facebook, Twitter and Youtube for fun, frivolity and further great stories.
