Deadline Day, Norwich and what’s to come
As I write the nauseous “Deadline Day” is coming through loud and clear on Sky Sports. In spite of the activity at St Andrews they have yet to mention us. I am not going to talk about those coming in or those going out

10 men, 9 Men and a 2 match ban
After last week’s moaning rant (read by over 1500 apparently), quickly became wrapping paper, you may have been hoping that my warnings would be forgotten and the loss of key players would be covered by outstanding displays by our youngsters and our players returning from loan.

The Blues Hokey Cokey – Players in and then out
Twelve months ago, when we were trimming the staff to remove the big earners Ryan Woods appeared. Presumably he was cheaper than those on their way out, but was given a better deal than the one Stoke City or Millwall his loaners, could come up with.

Leko finally breaks his duck and its a SEVEN+ not from “Len” but from the “Chairman”
I have mixed feelings about Tuesday’s elimination from The EFL Cup at Norwich. My first reaction, as ever when we throw away the opportunity of Cup progress is why? Getting ‘minutes’ into players legs is frankly annoying. These guys train 4-5 days a week. Their fitness should be without question. Ah but its not the same as match play is the cry. Well bloody well make it like the real thing. Practice as you mean to play.

Unbeaten in July and Top of the league
Week 2 and still dreaming? Blues having gone unbeaten in July for the first time in their history and now sit top of the league. Just a moment while I slap myself in the face to make sure I am actually awake!

Watto’s Weekly 2022/23 – Issue 1
Am I dreaming? July not through and the Football season is started? My wedding was on the Friday before the opening day in 1973. AUGUST 24th !!! We honeymooned in Manchester where Blues went down 3-1 at Manchester City. Perfect planning as my first wedding anniversary was on a Saturday! Leeds 3 Blues 0.

Atmosphere, Ownership, Demonstrations and farewell
The goings on at St Andrews over the last few weeks have seen embarrassing defeats, questions asked about the Manager, the Chief Exec and the Director of Football. One only has to look at the state of the country to realize that bad management and bad leadership causes division. It sets comrade against comrade and in the case of Birmingham City fan against fan.

From St Andrews to the tower but results did not change
My plan was to do my Watto’s weekly after the local Derby with Coventry. Such was my devastation after the 2-4 drubbing, I was in such a low that the whole Watto-BCFC relationship was almost done. In the spirit of Easter and renewal of life I find myself writing this as we move towards the kick off in Blackpool.

26, 27, 29 where’s 28 – International duty and the new boy wonder.
Welcome to FITS 29. The more observant of you will have noted that FITS 28 did not appear. Frankly there was not much Blues news to write home about. The International break was taken up by the suitability of Jude Bellingham to be a fixture in the England team. At least it was in my case. The necessity of me repeating the blindingly obvious was mute. You all know what I think and it seemed pointless to repeat it.

Blues missed chances, International break and who to follow this weekend
After last week’s rant and questioning some of the character of certain members of the team, the Swansea performance was most satisfactory. Sure, Blues had more opportunities given than Hughie Green but there was no lack of desire or character.
