Injuries mounting up

Well, what a difference a week makes? Since my last literary contribution 6 points ,5 goals, 2 clean sheets and an upsurge in position in an ever-contracting table. Only 3 points outside the playoffs, although we would need at least a 3-goal win to get in there.

Is it just Birmingham City that have this kind of situation? Just when we are becoming the team that we think we should be, we are shorn of three major players.

Colin has been out for 4 games already and will miss at least another 4. Ironically, we have taken 10 points with him out. Sanderson got a knock on Tuesday and is a doubt for Saturday.

The injuries mount

By far the worst news is Tahith Chong, who after an innocent stretch of the thigh has damage that has required Surgery. He will back at Manchester United for around 4 months. Maybe had he been our player he could have been patched up and operated on later. United protecting their asset have him under the knife so he recovers on our time rather than theirs. Hopefully we have not seen the last of him in a Blues’ shirt.

Riley Mcgree who has been a sensation during the excellent run we hear won’t be staying after the transfer window after Christmas.

Sorry to pee on the Blues’ bonfire but we have gone from having a powerful squad, looking to move forward to threadbare in 2 days.

We will need to act in January but I really do believe that as long as our injury situation does not get worse, we can keep pace with the top 8 places at least.

Another young stars debut

Congratulations to Jordon James who debuted against Bristol and looked comfortable. It really is tremendous how the Academy churns out these talented kids. Let’s hope that a few more become permanent fixtures in our First XI.
